I can honestly say that 5 years ago I would have never imagined being where I am in this creative industry. I never thought I would ever make the cover of a magazine and I did, I never thought I would work for my favorite MFR's and I have, I never thought I would either take it so seriously, be so oh well about it all and or let alone feel like I needed a break.
I have done all of the above.
I have been and still am ridiculed and judged, praised and hugged all online because of who I am. What you see is what you get with me. I am not a push-over nor am I a bully. I have a backbone but I know when to lay on my back as well.
I was told by so many of my celeb scrap friends to not be who I am on my blog because it is not going to be accepted when I started to design for big name companies and or guest design BOY WERE THEY WRONG. I am SO GLAD I stuck with my guns and who I am as a person, mom, wife, soldier girl, friend online and off .. and just basically be who I am.
Opportunities have come knocking and still knocking and one of them I am SO GRATEFUL for and still pinch myself quite often. Being named amongst ladies that I followed and or designed with for years as a Favorite Scrapbook Blogger let alone a 4 page spread. WOW
So what does that tell you about NOT keeping it REAL.
BE yourself and always no matter stay real don't be a sell out for free product because nine times out of ten .. the person watching you knows that REAL WOMEN are ARTISTS and they create and they have LIVES and struggles and not afraid to talk about them.
So congrats to all the ladies featured and congrats to all of you out there that are still successful whether you say shit, damn and thank you ma'am all on one blog.
